This guide covers everything needed to prepare and submit a paper to IJRHS. Papers that follow it go to review faster.
1. Before you submit
- The paper must be original, not published before, and not under review at another journal.
- It must fit one of the journal’s subjects.
- All authors must have approved the final version and agreed to its submission.
- Research on people or animals needs ethics approval and consent (see publication ethics).
2. Manuscript format
Template: you can write your paper in our manuscript template (Word). Using it is optional; papers in any format are accepted.
| Element | Requirement |
|---|---|
| File | Any format: Word, PDF or other |
| Page | A4, 1 inch (2.54 cm) margins on all sides |
| Font | Times New Roman, 12 point; abstract in italics |
| Spacing | 1.5 lines throughout |
| Headings | Section headings bold in sentence case; subheadings in normal style |
| Length | At least 1,500 words; see the types of paper for typical lengths |
| Language | Clear English (papers in Hindi are also considered) |
3. Structure of a research article
- Title page: title, all authors’ names, affiliations, emails, ORCID iDs, and the corresponding author
- Title: specific and under 20 words
- Abstract: 200 to 300 words covering purpose, method, findings and value
- Keywords: 5 to 7
- Introduction, Literature review, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion (with limitations and future research)
- Declarations: funding, conflicts of interest, ethics approval, data availability, use of AI tools
- References: required; papers without references are not reviewed
4. Preparing for blind review
Because review is double blind, the main manuscript must not reveal who the authors are. The editor removes author names before the paper goes to reviewers. Please write self-citations in the third person (“Sharma (2024) found”, not “we found earlier”).
5. References
Use APA style, 7th edition. Every in-text citation must appear in the reference list and every reference must be cited. References must be journal articles, books or official sources. Image links, screenshots, company charts and unsourced figures are not accepted as references. Give DOIs where they exist, for example: Singh, A., & Rao, P. (2025). Title of article. Journal Name, 12(3), 45–60. https://doi.org/10.xxxx/xxxxx
6. Tables and figures
Number tables and figures in order, give each a short title, and cite each in the text. Figures should be at least 300 dpi. Tables should be editable tables, not images.
7. Similarity check
You do not need to send a similarity report: the editors check every paper for similarity before review. See the plagiarism policy for limits.
8. After acceptance
- Pay the article processing charge.
- Check the typeset proof within 48 hours.
- The article is published online within 4 to 5 days of acceptance, with its DOI.
